Imagine.  Lines wrapped, intersections met, shapes become form.  Meet Fractured Sun the latest creation from our in-house artist Christine.  The original concepts for this one were seeded months ago when prototyping on a micro keychain kendama.  From there the idea just got bigger until it exploded on to an unpainted Keyaki wood Shinfuji kendama.

The process is painstakingly hand applied no templates, no airbrush, and no machine except the biological one holding the brush.  Too much time using one’s creative focus and even the art machine needs a break.  Commissioned for Christmas 2014 it has made it to light of day just now.

The time required for these beauties mean that they are an infrequent feature in our shop.  They are created with both a love of art and a love of kendama.  The jishin精神 (spirit) of both the Manila-based artist and the craftsmen in Japan can be felt here.  This is a one-of-a-kind effort sure to please the player or collector.
